Our colleagues at Hardy Girls Healthy Women have alerted us to American Apparel's odious new campaign: in a nutshell, they are asking girls to upload pictures of their asses to compete for the *honor* of being voted the new "Official Ass of American Apparel" or whatever. Empowerment at its finest!

Sadly but not unexpectedly, many girls and women have complied, as you can see here:

HGHW has organized a petition, which we've signed and circulated, but polite petitions aren't really our style at the AntiPorn Activist Network.

Here's what we'd like you to do instead:

1.Locate your digital camera

2.Find an old pair of underwear

3.Write your uncensored thoughts about American Apparel's marketing practices on the underwear with a marker

4.Take a picture of your butt, wearing your new and improved underwear

5.Send it to American Apparel using their webform at the link given above. You will need to supply some info to complete the webform...we give you permission to lie.

6.Send your picture to antiporn_activist at yahoo.com so we can post it here

7.Circulate this idea to anyone who might be inclined to participate.
